A spoiler-controlled A Date with Death walkthrough covering Days 1–7, the Beyond the Bet branch and the best save points for every ending.

Best practice: keep separate saves at the end of Days 2 and 5. One save protects the early bad-ending fork; the other preserves access to both the original route and Beyond the Bet.

Days 1–2: set your tone

Create your protagonist, explore the room and establish how you answer Casper. Flirty and curious replies support romantic outcomes; consistently hostile replies push toward Despondent. Water the plant if you want to keep good routes open.

Day 3: Soul Connection

This is the first hard fork. Three consecutive panic/stop answers trigger Untrustworthy. To continue, show trust and allow the connection. Make a save before the call if you want the early ending without replaying the opening.

Days 4–5: build the route

Keep the plant alive, engage with Casper and watch for recurring themes. Marriage jokes prepare Rings. Expansion choices prepare Duo. At the end of Day 5, save before any flower-marked choice.

Day 6: choose the story family

Original route

Stay outside the flower branch for Mine, Rings and Despondent.

Expansion route

Use Expansion-marked dialogue and equality/reaper choices for Duo.

Beyond the Bet

Select the flower route to start its new Day 6 and continue through Day 10.

Days 7–10: commit consistently

For the happier DLC outcomes, frame survival as something you and Casper solve together. Avoid choices that abandon either person. Beyond the Bet is designed for after at least one original ending, and the official developer post recommends that order.

Fast replay plan

  1. First run: play naturally and finish one original ending.
  2. Reload the Day 5 save for Rings, Mine or Duo.
  3. Reload Day 5 again and select the flower-marked branch.
  4. Use late DLC saves to test Bloom, Forget-Me-Not, Interwoven and Metamorphosis.
